It's not difficult to ensure that you are familiar with effective strategies for guaranteed subject-verb agreement.  Here are a few free tips.

This is as easy as ..1+1=2

1.It's simple! If it's him and her it's them! Plural.
He and his uncle are at the party

This is also as easy as ..1/1=1

2. Him and or her means it can only be one of the two. Singular
He or his uncle is at the party.

This is where it starts to get tricky.. 1+2=3

3. What happens if we want to talk about " He and Her and her friend".That means it's plural and singular, or singular and plural depending on the chosen order.

The police officer or his colleagues check the building everyday.

His colleagues or the police officer checks the building everyday.
